CambUnitedsmall.jpgAhead of the Cambridge United – Manchester United FA Cup clash Daniel Zeichner said:

“Today is a very big day for Cambridge United. Usually it’s the University boat race when the world sees a Cambridge team on prime time TV but today we show that there is another city as well -; and we’re very proud of it.

When Jez George was trudging around the country on those long walks to raise funds for the youth scheme, he can hardly have imagined days like this. But change can happen with the right leadership, and football can help inspire wider change which is why it is so important, and why I’ve been backing Jez and the club all the way.

As a Cambridge United season ticket holder I’m lucky to have a ticket for the big match to cheer the Us on from the stands. I normally sit in the main stand, but tonight I’ll be standing at the Newmarket Road End, and it will be a night to remember. Even better will be if I can help press local politicians and planners to do what should have been done a long time ago -; sort out a proper future for this club. Plans to redevelop the Abbey are spot-on and have my full support -; this is a big moment for club and city, let’s grasp it.”
