Daniel Zeichner MP experienced the "Theatre of Plants" at a visit to the Cambridge Science Festival on Saturday 25 March.

Daniel Zeichner joined staff at the Science Festival to explore herbs, honey and horticulture over five centuries. He discovered all things botanical from sixteenth-century herbal remedies, Charles Darwin's flesh-eating plants and Christ College's glorious gardens.

Daniel Zeichner MP discussed the post-Brexit future of the UK gaming industry at a visit to a Cambridge-based games firm with a leading industry body.

Daniel Zeichner visited the games studio Ninja Theory as well as joining representatives of the trade body UK Interactive Entertainment (Ukie), which represents over 300 games and interactive businesses across the UK – including 15 firms operating in Cambridge. Daniel Zeichner raised Cambridge’s “Catholic Church junction” in a Parliamentary debate about offences by drivers of moving traffic.

The four-way junction between Hills Road, Lensfield Road, Regent Street and Gonville Place is at the centre of congestion problems in Cambridge. Andy Campbell, Managing Director of Stagecoach Cambridgeshire, has consistently argued that one of the major problems facing buses in Cambridge includes the snarl-ups at the junction where a yellow box system had been removed after Cambridgeshire County Council reconfigured the junction.

Daniel Zeichner MP visited DHIVERSE, the HIV and sexual health charity for Cambridgeshire, to support a new sex education project.

DHIVERSE is developing and piloting a new project called SLIP (Sex Law and Internet Porn) which aims to support young offenders as well as any young person who did not fully engage with sex and relationships education at school and where risky or inappropriate behaviour and poor sexual health affect a young person’s opportunities and wellbeing.

Daniel Zeichner MP visited the Internet Watch Foundation to find out about global efforts to eliminate online child sexual abuse imagery. 

The IWF identifies online child sexual abuse content and works globally to have it removed. Established in 1996, the charity is one of the largest and most effective hotlines in the world identifying and removing online images and videos of child sexual abuse. In 2015, the IWF assessed 68,092 reports as child sexual abuse webpages.
