The call for action on the A14 from Lib Dem Julian Huppert is an astonishing piece of hypocrisy, given the endless opposition from Cambridge Lib Dems over the years. He has the gall to tell the Cambridge News "we cannot waste any more time in finding a solution." (Cambridge News June 13 2012).

Twenty four constituency Labour Parties from across Eastern England have backed Daniel in his bid to continue to represent the region on Labour’s National Policy Forum. Ballot papers are being sent to party members this week, and Daniel says that he is extremely grateful for the wide support: ” Getting support from so many CLPs, including CLPs in all six counties across our region, is a very good start in this election campaign. Labour’s National Policy Forum meets in Birmingham on June 16 and 17 and I will be taking the issues raised by party members direct to our party leaders. I welcome the appointment of Jon Cruddas to chair the policy review, and the recommendation that Angela Eagle chair the National Policy Forum – this is the radical turn that Labour needs to equip us to face the huge challenges that will face us when we move into Government.”

Cambridge MP Julian Huppert last night failed to back Labour’s last ditch attempt to stop the Health and Social Care Bill – the final stage in an extraordinary series of different positions he has taken on the Bill. Labour argued that final agreement on the Bill should be delayed until information on the risk register had been made available, as the Government has been ordered to do. Mr Huppert had previously supported a motion demanding that the information be made available.
