Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner joined Cats Protection to highlight how Cambridge cat owners can ensure their feline friends don’t suffer any cat-astophies and instead have a purr-fect Christmas.

The charity warned that Christmas can bring some big hazards for your cat

Dropped pine needles from your real tree can hurt cats’ feet and cause infections, cats can be tempted to play with dangling decorations which could topple your tree over, while a number of festive plants are potentially fatal to cats, including mistletoe and holly.

Mr Zeichner, who earlier this year signed up the Manifesto for Cats said: “By following simple advice from Cats Protection you can ensure you and your kitty have a su-purr-ior Christmas!”
