Cambridgeshire County Council is today outlining its budget proposals for the authority, commenting, Daniel Zeichner MP said:

 “These are colossal and cruel Conservative cuts that will devastate the lives of many people in Cambridge.

Cambridge is a world class city, yet what is being described sounds like a third world country with roads not being gritted in icy conditions whilst funding is slashed from our libraries and Children’s Centres.

Already I hear heartbreaking stories at my surgeries from elderly and vulnerable people including those with mental health needs – they can’t cope with another £9 million cuts.

Meanwhile, these wrong footed, short sighted cuts mean our children’s safety will be put at risk as every lollypop man and lady faces the sack.”
