Daniel Zeichner to attend Anzac Day Ceremonies

Daniel Zeichner MP joined in the ceremonies to commemorate Anzac Day at Cambridge City Cemetery on Saturday 22 April.

Daniel Zeichner attended the Morning Ceremony where 1018 graves commemorate those from the Commonwealth who died during both World War I and World War II. The cemetery was the main RAF cemetery for East Anglia and Lincolnshire during World War II and among the RAF graves are over 250 Australian and 80 New Zealand graves. An afternoon ceremony was held at 3pm at St Andrew the Great Church.

Daniel Zeichner joined Air Chief Marshall Sir Michael Graydon, the Turkish Ambassador and the Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Jeremy Benstead, alongside representatives from the High Commission, RAF and British Legion. The RAF Honington Band and Cambridge & Ely Air Cadets were also be attendance.

“It is an honour to be able to commemorate the brave soldiers who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars,” said Daniel Zeichner. “Cambridge has a proud history of hosting soldiers from across the world.”
