Figures gathered by the Alzheimer’s Society show that Addenbrooke’s is one of the five worst performing hospitals trusts for people with dementia falling whilst in hospital.

The charity’s freedom of Information request revealed 279 vulnerable patients suffered falls at Cambridge’s local hospital.

Daniel Zeichner MP met the Alzheimer’s Society and has backed their Fix Dementia Care campaign which calls for improvements in hospital care for people living with dementia.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “Staff at Addenbrooke’s work incredibly hard in a really tough financial climate. Alzheimer’s Society told me it’s often easier to find out about your local hospital finances than the quality of care you’ll receive if you have dementia. That’s why I’m getting behind this campaign to improve transparency and raise the bar on quality.”
