Cambridge parents and teachers are saying it is time for the Government to address the “chronic long-term underfunding” from which Cambridgeshire schools have long suffered.
The Government is currently considering the national funding formula for schools and Daniel Zeichner MP has called for a long-term change that will correct once and for all the imbalance in Cambridgeshire’s school funding.
If you agree it's time for action, please sign this petition below.
To the House of Commons,
The petition of residents of Cambridge,
Declares that the petitioners believe the existing school funding model is unfair and needs updating; further declares that pupils in Cambridge receive an average of £4,200 per year against an average of £6,300 for the highest funded areas of England.
The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons supports the earliest possible introduction of a new funding formula for poorly funded schools in England.
