Daniel Zeichner MP is holding a public zoom meeting tonight with his colleague Abena Oppong-Asare MP. (Thursday 18 June, 6pm).

The meeting will discuss the recent atrocities in the United States and the global Black Lives Matter response including calls for justice for Belly Mujinga; changes to the curriculum and the disproportionate risk from COVID-19 in BAME communities.

Mr Zeichner said: “I’m delighted that my good friend Abena Oppong-Asare MP will speak to a Cambridge audience. Since the tragic death of George Floyd, we have seen a huge amount of anger and desire to improve the lives of black people in the United States, here in Britain and across the world. Of course, racism is not just a problem in the United States. I was deeply disappointed that the Conservative Government attempted to delay and then redact parts of a report into the disproportionate impact of coronavirus on BAME communities when we need action now to prevent more deaths. I hope tonight’s meeting will be a useful opportunity to discuss this and many other issues”
