Following the Labour leadership announcement, speaking from Liverpool, Daniel Zeichner MP said: “Owen Smith and Jeremy Corbyn have conducted a serious debate across the summer with many thousands of people about the future direction of the Labour Party. We all agree that there is something fundamentally wrong with the direction our country is heading.

 

Britain is at a crossroads. We have a new Conservative Government that is bitterly divided

over Britain’s future relationship with Europe and is taking the country in the wrong direction.

 

Now it’s time for the Labour Party to focus on exposing Conservative failure and offering a positive, optimistic programme for the future.
