MP Daniel Zeichner joined Cambridge youngsters making and then racing dragons on Jack Warren Green as part of the free Summerdaze programme organised and delivered by ChYpPS (The Children and Young People’s Participation Service).

Mr Zeichner made his own dragon at the “Scrap Dragon Derby” and found out more about the Cambridge Community Scrapstore where all the materials to make the dragons come from. With some hard graft and imagination everyone transformed card and paper, fabric and textiles, netting and rope, and even old buggies, suitcases and tyres into fantastical beasts.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “It’s really important to make as much use of Cambridge’s fantastic array of open spaces and encourage families to play in the outdoors. The children will be having a lot of our fun and learning new skills. I really enjoyed joining the dragon racers.”
