Daniel Zeichner MP has hosted the Parliamentary launch of the Education Support Partnership and their new #NotQuittingTeaching campaign.

Their latest research revealed that schools are set to suffer an ‘exodus’ of experienced teachers by 2020 and beyond, with almost a third of teachers in the school, FE and HE professions expected to leave. Whilst some will be retiring, many others are set to leave for negative reasons at a time when student numbers are increasing and recruiters are struggling to find trainees.

Unless more staff can be supported to stay, the UK will need to recruit 200 teachers every single day just to keep staffing levels the same.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “The quality of a school depends upon the quality and morale of the workforce. In an increasingly competitive education system I hear time and time again of the pressures that lead people to leave, and the stresses and strain which that puts on those who remain. It really is in all our interests to find solutions, and I’m delighted that the Education Support Partnership is on hand to help. The #NotQuittingTeaching campaign really matters.”
