I’m a frequent visitor to Manchester for political events -; but I’m expecting tonight to be very different! The first thing you notice when you arrive in Labour Manchester is the free bus shuttle service that gets you around the city. It really feels like being in another country -; a marked contrast to the expensive bus fare to get you from Cambridge station into our city centre!

But tonight will be about the football, and we’ve got nothing to lose and a huge amount to gain. Our players had the experience of two trips to Wembley last year so they shouldn’t be intimidated by a big ground, but the stadium will be much fuller, and this will probably be the biggest crowd any of them have played in front of. What an opportunity! I hope Luke Chadwick gets on at some point -; it will be a huge moment for him, and richly deserved. And he’s due a goal……
