Daniel Zeichner MP Standing up for Cambridge
David Cameron promised a ‘cycling revolution’ yet has repeatedly failed to give cycling the attention it deserves. We really need to see a long-term vision for cycling in this country, finally putting cyclists on the same footing as motorists and making this mode of transport safer and more accessible.
The recent news that the Government’s promised Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy will now be delayed until the spring is yet another blow for cyclists in this country. This isn’t walking pace, it’s a snail’s pace, and it’s simply unacceptable. Ahead of the Spending Review this month we would advise the Government to think long and hard before financially side-lining cyclists once again.
