Following the announcements in the Commons today on the planned 19 July reopening Daniel Zeichner MP said:

“We want to get back to normal but this is a mess. Are masks needed or not? If they are then it’s the government’s first duty to keep us safe and they should require people to wear them. Instead they are making life less safe for us all and putting people who work on trains, buses and in supermarkets in an impossible situation. They promised to look at data not dates, but as cases in Cambridge soar, it’s increasingly clear they only look at the extreme libertarian tendencies of some of their own backbenchers.”
