Today is election day and it’s neck and neck in Cambridge and across the UK.

Five things to think about before you cast your vote:

IT’S SO CLOSE!
Respected independent forecaster, Electoral Calculus predicted Cambridge’s result to within a point in 2010.  Now it puts Cambridge 245th on the list of seats Labour can win tomorrow. Experts say any party needs 285 seats to be the largest party and lead a government.  Labour must win Cambridge to stop a Conservative government.

CAN OUR NHS SURVIVE?
The respected King’s Fund called the “top down reorganisation” of the NHS has been “distracting and damaging” while Naomi, a nurse at Addenbrooke’s says: “I don’t think the NHS can survive another five years of the Tories”.

GREEN SUPPORTER?
Guardian journalist and well known Green George Monbiot urged all those who want a progressive government to vote Labour in Cambridge on 7 May.

BRITAIN ISN’T EATING.
10,000 people have used the Cambridge foodbank since 2010. Almost 700,000 people are on zero hours contracts, and every week, face the uncertainty of not knowing if they will have enough money to pay the bills. They can’t afford 5 more years of the Tories. Polly Toynbee calls the 2015 Tory manifesto “A reprise of Margaret Thatcher’s greatest hits”

VOTE SMART.
Daniel Zeichner is endorsed by VoteSmart as the candidate to back if you want a progressive government.
