WAR ON CAMBRIDGE LITTER BUGS

MP Daniel Zeichner joined a team of Cambridge City Council’s litter pickers today. Kitted out in a high vis uniform, he joined regular staff on Jesus Green who work daily to keep our city tidy.

In a bid to get litter louts to clean up their act, in the last year the council has tripled the number of fines for people caught littering the streets whilst installing over 100 new litter bins.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “Cambridge is a fantastic city to live in and visit. We need to keep it that way. Cambridge's litter pickers are some of our city's unsung heroes, fighting a battle against discarded fast food wrappers, crisp packets and plastic bottles which can quickly turn an area into a grot-spot."
