Daniel Zeichner MP Standing up for Cambridge
Responding to the news that University Vice Chancellors received 8% pay increases last year, Cambridge Labour Parliamentary Candidate Daniel Zeichner has contrasted the pay rise for the Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University with low-paid staff in the university: “In a university which has some thousand staff earning less than the living wage, it is profoundly insensitive for the person at the top to be given a twenty thousand pound pay rise. For thousands of university staff who have been told that there is no money for them to have more than 1% it is quite extraordinary that completely different rules are applied to those who already earn so much more.”
