Responding to the announcement of plans announced today (Wednesday 4th December) by Cambridge United Football Club for a new stadium, Daniel Zeichner, Labour candidate for Cambridge says:

“I always stand full-square with the Football Club, who are a great asset to our City. These plans look very exciting, although I appreciate that we have all been disappointed before when schemes have failed to materialise. Also like many, I am very attached to the current site but we all know that for the club to go forward, major improvements would be needed at the Abbey. Any move must secure benefits for the local community, and this cannot be a Trojan horse for major housing developments, but I welcome this initiative and look forward to discussing it further with fans and with the Club”
