On Friday 10 December, Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner received his Covid-19 booster jab, as he saw first-hand the massive logistical operation underway at the NHS vaccination clinic at the Grafton Centre.

He is urging eligible residents to similarly come forward for their booster or vaccination, amid concerns relating to the emergence of the Omicron variant.

Mr Zeichner was given a tour of the site and arrived to enthusiastic crowds queueing up to get their vaccine. He met and thanked staff and volunteers on the frontline before receiving his booster dose.

Daniel Zeichner, Member of Parliament for Cambridge, said: “it was a pleasure to see the great work being done by our NHS and volunteers in rolling out the booster programme. They are the best of us. The data about the spread of the Omicron variant is worrying but, equally, we know ensuring as many people as possible are fully vaccinated with three doses of vaccine remains the best course of action. I encourage everyone to take up the offer of a first, second or booster jab as soon as they are eligible”.
