Apprentices who have successfully completed their Level 3 apprenticeships at Carl Zeiss Microscopy Ltd, a global manufacturer of scanning electron microscopes, were presented with certificates by Daniel Zeichner MP at their annual awards ceremony.

The apprenticeship is a four-year scheme consisting of day-release at college or university and a programme of placements within the company giving each apprentice a unique level of experience across all departments.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “In an innovation city like Cambridge high quality apprenticeships across the Sciences are vital to allow the next generation of school leavers to earn while they learn. I am keen to work closely with young people and businesses to create a clear vocational route through education.”

Mr Zeichner will also hear how the company is in the process of transferring production of further Electron Microscopes ranges from their sister Zeiss company in Germany to the Cambridge facility which looks set to almost double exports from the UK.
