Cambridge Regional College student, Louis Rolfe, has been recognised at a special event in Parliament.

Louis received the runner-up prize in the 19-years-old and over category of the Association of Colleges’ Student of the Year awards. He was welcomed, alongside his proud parents, to Parliament by Daniel Zeichner MP.

The award marks the end of an exceptional year for Louis, who won Gold and Bronze cycling medals at this year’s Paralympic Games in Rio, setting a world record in the process.

Ian Ashman, President of the Association of Colleges, said: “Louis is an inspiring person who has shown commitment and dedication to achieving success in his life. I congratulate Louis on being named a runner up in the Association of College’s Student of the Year award.”

Daniel Zeichner MP added: “Louis is an exceptionally talented young man. Like many other people in Cambridge, and across Britain, I was cheering him on in Rio. He is a credit to his family, community and our city; he should be very proud of what he has achieved in 2016”.
