Daniel Zeichner, MP for Cambridge, will this Friday (27th July 2018) meet with CEO of Cambridge based company Baby Safe Ltd, Lisa Walford, at the St John’s Innovation Centre to hear about the development of an unique and innovative baby car seat called Safe Sleep Seat. During the meeting, Mr Zeichner will be shown how the car seat works and hear how this company aims to make travelling by car safer for parents and babies.
Daniel Zeichner said: “I am looking forward to meeting, yet another, innovative Company from Cambridge. When Lisa contacted me with the concept of the Safe Sleep Seat I was keen to see for myself the product that she had designed.“
“If there is a gap in the market for something that can make travelling by car safer for babies and their parents then I would like to see that being filled. I have no doubt that Lisa will gain the investment she needs to get this product off the ground and into the shops in no time at all.“
Baby Safe is a new company which has designed and created an innovative baby car seat by using ‘hands free’ reclining technology. The company was established in 2015 and is headed up by former Metropolitan police officer, Lisa Walford. The seat works using a wireless remote, which allows parents to alter the position on the seat for the comfort and safety of the baby. Baby Safe are currently seeking investment to be able to bring the Safe Sleep Seat to market.
Ms Walford says that her own children and experience of working as a police officer inspired her to design the product. Lisa Walford said: “I have been working on the concept for over four years conducting research with parents and carers, and have found a definite gap in the market. The reaction to the seat has been overwhelming as it not only has a new, innovative feature to help reduce driver distraction accidents which affect everyone on the road, but it will also ensure that babies can sleep safely in their seats avoiding potential breathing issues. These are serious issues which need to be reduced, and the Safe Sleep Seat will help immensely with this.”
