Cambridge youngsters taking part in ChYpPS’s Playdaze programme of Summer Holiday activities will be joined by Cambridge’s MP Daniel Zeichner to tackle Cambridge’s litter bugs. (Friday 9 August, 11am, Cherry Hinton recreation ground, CB1 9NU – meet by large marquee.)

The big clear up will take place on Cherry Hinton Rec, the well loved open space that is home to diverse wildlife and sports pitches.

The youngsters and their mums and dads will be issued with gloves, bags, and litter-picking tools.

After the litter pick they will enjoy some outdoor games.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “We always need to be vigilant in the battle against discarded fast food wrappers, crisp packets and plastic bottles which can quickly turn an area into a grot-spot.
