David Lammy, who has been MP for Tottenham since 2000 and Cambridge’s Daniel Zeichner hopped aboard one of the first commuter trains to London leaving Cambridge North on Monday 22 May, at 10.51am.

David Lammy and Daniel Zeichner co-chair the London Stansted Cambridge Consortium Parliamentary Group, which has consistently called for rail improvements between Cambridge and London for many years.

Daniel Zeichner said: “I am delighted to welcome David to Cambridge to finally celebrate the opening of the much awaited Cambridge North station.

“The work done by the LSCC group has ensured that Cambridge North is now ready to go and we will be hopping on one of the first trains to leave the station to celebrate this important landmark.

“Cambridge North will cut travel time for people working at the Science Park and I believe help transform the north of our city.”
