Labour’s Shadow Energy and Climate Change Minister Caroline Flint MP was invited by Cambridge Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate Daniel Zeichner to meet key local figures in the renewable energy sector at a meeting hosted by Cambridge Cleantech at it’s Future Business Centre.

Mr Zeichner says that he is delighted that the Shadow Energy Secretary was in Cambridge:

“At the Labour Party Conference, Ed Miliband highlighted his plan for green jobs to transform the UK economy. Cambridge, and the innovative cleantech sector, will be at the forefront of this push to create high-quality, well-paid jobs, while transforming our environment. It’s a win-win approach, but will need the right leadership and right regulatory framework to make it happen – which is why I’m delighted that Caroline is hear to meet the key people.”

Cambridge Cleantech is the members’ organisation supporting the growth of environmental goods and services or “cleantech” companies in Greater Cambridge and across the region. Cambridge Cleantech encourages supply chain opportunities for companies in the sector, enables shared experience of innovative growth businesses and provides collective services such as access to finance, government regulatory updates and links to international partners. Big names behind the venture include the David Ball Group Plc, University of Cambridge and ARM.
