Cambridge MP pays tribute to Stephen Hawking; ‘an inspirational scientist, with a powerful social conscience’

Daniel Zeichner, MP for Cambridge, has today paid tribute to world-renowned scientist, Professor Stephen Hawking, who passed away in the early hours of the morning in his home in Cambridge at the age of 76. Professor Hawking dedicated his life to science and discovery.

Mr Zeichner said: “It was a true privilege to have met Professor Stephen Hawking, and today the world has lost an extraordinary man. His contributions to science will live in history forever, as will his passion for people. He was quite simply an inspirational scientist, with a powerful social conscience and he encapsulated everything that is Cambridge.”

“My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones, and his contribution to this city will not be forgotten. “
