Daniel Zeichner MP experienced the “Theatre of Plants” at a visit to the Cambridge Science Festival on Saturday 25 March.

Daniel Zeichner joined staff at the Science Festival to explore herbs, honey and horticulture over five centuries. He discovered all things botanical from sixteenth-century herbal remedies, Charles Darwin’s flesh-eating plants and Christ College’s glorious gardens.

Daniel Zeichner said: “It was fantastic to discover the hidden botanic treasures in the wonderful setting of the Old Library at Christ’s College. The Science Festival is always a highlight for me and it has become a fantastic public platform for showcasing Cambridge’s unique strength in scientific research.”

John Wagstaff, Christ’s College Librarian, added: “We really enjoy having members of the public visit our library exhibitions, of which there are usually two per year. All are welcome to drop by and view the “Theatre of Plants”, which is open between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Friday or Saturday, March 24th and 25th. We hope that Mr Zeichner had, and all our visitors, will have an informative and fulfilling experience.”
