Cambridge Regional College’s Wear Red Day celebration has become a successful and long-running event.  Students at the college have often engaged in innovative events to raise awareness or raise money for Show Racism the Red Card, such as baking desserts using red ingredients.

Due to the initial day being on half term Cambridge Regional College have elected to do Wear Red Day early to show their commitment to fighting racism. Over 250,000 people registered for Wear Red Day in 2021 and that number is set to increase this year. It has played a key role in fighting racism in sport.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: ‘Cambridge Regional College have always been brilliant in supporting Wear Red Day… The work Show Racism the Red Card do to fight racism is heartening and beneficial. Racism is a scourge in our society and harms the lives and safety of many members of our community. But the educational, financial, and physical support Show Racism the Red Card provide to people at an early stage in their lives makes a huge difference in opposing racism.  I am very pleased to be supporting Cambridge Regional College as they continue their track record of championing Show Racism the Red Card.  I look forward to seeing what the students put on this year for Wear Red Day.’
